New Prices - effective February 2009
As most of you will be aware, we have managed to avoid increasing prices for the last five years,
even when our Landlords have put the rent up. We are aware that in 2009 we will be seeing further increases in the cost of our premises and, as
such, we are forced to increase the cost of room rentals only. Prices for equipment hire and other services remain unaffected.
The information we hold suggests room rental prices should increase from £7.00ph to £9.00ph to
enable us to absorb our costs in full. However, we have decided to cap the increase at £8.00ph, with effect from Monday 2nd February 2009.
Deposits
The deposit amount is based on the room rental charge and all new deposits will reflect this. For
existing deposited bands, there is no immediate change required to your deposit amount – however the new price will be accounted for during any
future changes to your deposit. For example;
Currently, if your band regularly rehearses for 2 hours at a time, your full deposit should be
£28.00. This is based on your 2 hour rehearsal costing £14.00 (ie. 2 hours at £7.00ph) excluding any equipment hire, and your deposit being equal
to 2 rehearsals. If you cancelled a practice within 24 hours, we would charge £14.00 which would then be deducted from your deposit of £28.00,
leaving a deposit balance of £14.00. As you are aware, you would then be expected to pay £14.00 for the cancelled practice the next time you
rehearse, this increasing your deposit back up to £28.00.
However, under the new pricing system, your 2 hour rehearsal would cost £16.00 (ie. 2 hours at
£8.00ph) excluding equipment hire and, therefore, your full deposit amount would be £32.00. Consequently, if you are a band that originally paid
a £28.00 deposit and cancelled a practice within 24 hours, you would be expected to pay £16.00 for the cancelled practice plus an additional
£4.00 to take your full deposit up to £32.00 required.
If you have any questions regarding the above, please feel free to speak to us. We appreciate
any price increase is not welcome, however, you also know we would not increase our prices unless we genuinely had to, and the decision would
not be taken lightly. We look forward to continuing the great relationship we have with all our customers throughout 2009 and beyond.
